Flower Egg Carton Easter Wreath
Easter is all about colours, flowers, eggs and chicks! Here’s how to make a Flower Egg Carton Easter Wreath!
What you will need for our Flower Egg Carton Easter Wreath:
- Empty Egg cartons
- Paper plate
- Plastic Eggs (Optional)
- Feathers
- PomPoms
- Glitter (Optional)
- Paints
- Paintburshes
- PVA Glue
- Feathers
- Scissors (Kid Safety)
- String/ribbon
Lets start!
First you need to get a paper plate and cut out the middle to make a ring. My Little Learner helped me to cut this out using our kids safety scissors. If you don’t have any, or your little one is particularly small you may have to help or complete this step for them.
Once cut, you can then paint the ring paper plate whichever colour you would like. We used fluorescent pink to make it super bright!
Once painted, put to the side to dry. Next get your empty egg carton and cut carefully to make individual ‘pots’.
To make the pots into flowers, cut slits down the side towards the bottom of the pot. Make sure not to cut the bottom! You can cut as many or as few slits in as you would like. The more slits you add the thinner and more petals your flower will have. You can also do 4 cuts down each corner of the pot (not cutting the bottom) to create 4 bigger petals. I trimmed these into a more rounded shape to look more flowery.
Once the slits are cut into the pots/cups, push down onto a hard surface to fan out the petals. Using bring colours, paint all of the pots both front and back.
At this point if you would like to use glitter, you can sprinkle glitter onto your egg carton flowers when the paint is still wet! Now time to glue pompoms into the middle of your flowers, we used yellow and white!
While they are drying, get your paper plate ring and apply PVA glue all around it. We added orange and yellow feathers to go with the Easter theme. You could again use glitter, decorate with shredded coloured paper or even leave it just painted.
Using the PVA glue on one side of your plastic eggs, position and stick them down around the wreath. No plastic eggs, you could use pompoms, craft bunny/chicks etc.
Use the PVA glue to stick your dried egg carton flowers around the wreath and alternating to the plastic eggs.
Now once all the glue is fully dried, use a whole punch or carefully use the scissors to make a small hole at the top of the wreath. Put through the string/ribbon and make a loop to hang!
There it is, your Flower Egg Carton Easter Wreath all ready to hang on door this Easter!
