Mother’s Day Hand Print Cards Keep Sakes!
Do you need a little inspiration for this year’s Mother’s Day card? Well, look no further. This simple activity makes a gorgeous card for mums, grannies or any special person in your life. It’s also a really cute one to keep as it is made with your little one’s hand and fingerprints.
What you need
- Green, pink and purple paint (or whatever colour flowers you want to create)
- White card
- Brown paper for the pot
- Printed or hand written poem
- Photo of child (optional)
- Glue
How to make your Mother’s Day Card!
First, make a green handprint towards the top of the piece of card (A5 size). It doesn’t have to be perfect (as you can see from my example picture), sometimes the slightly smudged imperfect ones are nicer! Let them express themselves!! Then get your little one to dip their fingers in the coloured paint (I used pink and purple) to make the petals at the end of each finger.
Simply cut a pot shape out of the brown paper and stick it at the bottom of the card, so that the hand print looks like a plant poking out. You can then add the poem below and a photograph of your little one. They look so cute when they are finished and will definitely put a smile on a deserving mummas face!
Poem
(I can’t take credit for the poem as I saw it on a post some years ago on pintrest, so credit unknown).
I’ve made some Mother’s Day flowers,
With my fingers and my thumb,
So you’ll always have these memories,
For all the years to come!
Have a really lovely Mother’s Day with your loved ones – well deserved after the last few years. As always thinking of those for whom Mother’s Day can be a difficult day for many reasons. Take care of yourselves.
