Little Learners is coming to Teesside!
Hi! I’m Chelle the new franchisee bringing Little learners to Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland. I thought it best to introduce myself with a few ideas to do with your littlies at home, of course tried and tested by my own little ones.
I’ve been setting up tuff spot trays, painting, craft activities and anything creative and educational since my eldest was tiny. I also have a very creative background so any excuse to get messy and create I’m there, especially if it helps my children’s development.
I’m so excited to bring some of my ideas to classes and events but it’s also great fun to explore activities at home. I often have (dry and relatively easy to clean) activities out throughout the day if we have no plans to go leave the house and my toddler will keep coming back to.
At the construction site!
This tray is my go to when I want something quick and engaging and only needs a quick hoover after. All you’ll need is a tray of some sort (before I had a tuff spot I’d buy cat litter trays that are a great size for small hands and easy to store) cereal and diggers.
For an added extra you could add some cardboard tubes from kitchen roll etc, cardboard packaging and ripped egg boxes also work great! You could even also add play hammers and tools if you have them which are great for crushing cereal and using for mark making.
I’ve used a variety of cereals: rice crispies, cornflakes and coco pops. I recently we had this set up and left it out over a few days. Once it was getting a little boring I added some oats to the coco pops and suddenly it became a whole new and exciting tray. Win win!
If you give it a go don’t forget to pop by our social media and let us know, we’d love to hear how much fun you had!
