Water play is magical!

There’s something magical about the property of water, don’t you think! It’s like whenever water play is available children automatically gravitate towards the experience.

Water play can be as simple as you make it. It’s by far the most effective sensory based experiences that sparks happiness and joy for all ages.

Tired child? Add water!

Bored child? Add water!

Warm day? Add water!

Need a minute to drink that coffee? Add water!

I’m sure by now you can guess what my favourite activity is to do with my little one?

Below I have listed a few simple and fun water play ideas you can do at home. These activities can be enjoyed be enjoyed by the whole family.

  • Paint with water – Fill a bucket with water and add some paint brushed. Let your child paint the footpaths or the side of the house.
  • Garden soup – Go on a scavenger hunt in the garden and collect some natural materials. Then pour your flowers, leaves, or bark into a pot full of water to create a garden soup.
  •  Wash up – Grab a collection of toys (dirty or not) and pop them into a tub of soapy water.
  •  Experimentation station – Add a bunch of random kitchen utensils for children to explore in water. You could use whisks, funnels, measuring cups, or various sized containers.
  • Colour mixing – Explore and create colours by dropping a few drops of food colour into a tub of water. Primary colours are great for this activity red, blue, and yellow.
