We are so excited to announce that Little Learners is back in Ashington after a short Christmas break! Not only have we had a fresh lick of paint… we are now packed full of NEW educational activities and mark making opportunities! Find out more…

A brand new year for Ashington!

We were so very sad to see Lindsay go, who after over a year at Playspace Ashington has moved into a very exciting new role – but don’t worry, you can still see Lindsay when she visits with her own children! With a New Year just around the corner, Little Learners HQ stepped in and have taken over Playspace, making sure that all our friends in Ashington can continue to make their mark!

In the approach to Christmas we painted, built and hammered… creating a brand new Mark Making room that is just overflowing with opportunities to learn. Of course, we had to bring The Mark Makers with us, with each of your favourite character having their own home!

Join Swirlo the Magic pot in her cosy cave and make your mark using our brand new chalk wall! Or build some sandcastles with Lionel in his seaside sand pit! Ziggy and Archie are playing in the meadow, with lots of new tactile mark making activities on the wall – will you try out our sequin grass or would you like to write your name on our magic mirror? Don’t forget to pay a visit to Archie’s new Rainbow busy board too!

New classes for Ashington!

Our newly made over Mark Making Room isn’t just for honing those writing skills! We still have all our usual tuff tray and craft activities on offer, perfect for playing together and helping your Little Learner develop their fine and gross motor skills. Classes with Cherrie!

And if you’re a return learner to Playspace Ashington, don’t worry, we still have the amazing Cherrie here, running our Messy Mark Makers sessions as always. Cherrie really got stuck in with our makeover and has helped create a BEAUTIFUL learning environment for her classes. Come along and say hi in one of Cherrie’s sessions!

The Eduk8 n Play Sensory Room!

But wait! There’s more! We are so very proud to announce that Eduk8, a Northumberland based educational toy creator, have kindly sponsored our sensory space – meaning that you lucky children in Ashington now have a whole new world to explore! We will take a closer look into the space in a future post, but for now… here’s a sneak peek!
