Little Messy Learners Kwinana – Embracing Entrepreneurship and Messy Play!

My Journey as a New Franchisee in Kwinana

Hi there, I’m Katherine! I am a local mum of three children living in the city of Kwinana area. For the past few years I have been blessed with the opportunity to be a stay-at-home parent and a local volunteer.

Embracing Entrepreneurship and taking on a children's franchise

I begun my Little Messy Learners journey way back in 2021, a long time before I ever even thought about starting my own franchise! We started to regularly attend Little Messy Learners Kwinana in 2021 once my son was 6 months old and could participate in the messy fun. We had been to pop up messy play classes before, but Little Messy Learners was different, it was fun, engaging and exciting, but I also truly felt a sense of community when I attended Little Messy Learners classes.

I’m sure if you’re here reading this, then I don’t have to tell you that having three kids (3 years, 2 years, and 6 months) at the time, it was a challenge to get out of the house! And some days I questioned whether it was worth it to pack ALL the things up to get to the class. But once again the proof was in the fun times we had at our Little Messy Learners Kwinana classes, we made some wonderful friends and had some beautiful social interactions for both me and my babes. At home we loved to recreate some of the messy fun and practice our mark making skills – even sometimes on my walls! What I loved most of all was that we could all be together, having fun and keeping those little minds and little hands engaged.  Not going to lie when attending classes everyone will have seen me get into the messy materials just as much as the kids – who knew grown ups also used so many fine motor skills everyday!

When our lovely Little Messy Learners Kwinana class leader Laura, decided it was time to move on to her next adventure. I pounced on the opportunity! I just couldn’t have all the wonderful messy times go away and not be available to families any more. So after some encouragement, I decided I wanted to take the plunge and take on the business. That way I could provide this incredible program to more children within the community, helping parents and children build essential skills for development, just like my babies have. I absolutely love getting creative with play trays, socialising with parents and little ones and seeing how much the children grow and learn. If you come along to our classes you’ll probably find me and at least one of my little munchkins chatting away, getting messy and having fun!

I can’t wait to see you in class – make sure to check our schedule HERE!
