Easy Stair Gate & Ball – Fine Motor Activity

Hello lovely parents and carers,

At Little Learners we love to encourage learning at home, especially getting those little fingers moving through fine motor practise. In class, parents are always asking how they can set up learning activities to keep their little ones busy at home and we love to show you really easy ideas. Here goes, this one is my favourites……

This is a super easy fine motor activity for your little one using your stair gate and plastic balls. Simply place the balls in between the bars of the gate so that they are jammed in. Pulling them out and pushing them in again encourages important skills like squeezing, pulling, pushing, manipulating, pinching and lots of determination!! You can tie in colour matching with use of a muffin tray and tongs. This activity is great for sequencing and making patterns too. Have fun and look forward to seeing you at one of our classes soon!
