Easter Play & Craft Activities – Cheap & Easy Ideas!
Are you looking for some Easter Play and Craft Activities to keep your little ones busy over the Easter holidays? Well look no further! Below you will find some activities that are not only exciting to do, but will also develop your child’s fine motor skills and learning at the same time.
Pom pom eggs!
This is a really simple activity to set up. All you need is some plastic eggs, something to put them in to keep them stable and some coloured pom poms. If you can match the pom pom colours to the coloured eggs, even better! The children can use tweezers or just their pincer grip to pop a pom pom in each egg. Can they match the colours? Can they count the pom-poms as they go? How many altogether? Is it a big or a small pom pom? There are so many learning opportunities with this fun colourful activity.
Feed the animals!
There are lots of new baby animals around at Easter time. This is a great fine motor activity and has been a huge hit in my Easter themed classes! The food is just dried coloured pasta with paint. Can your little one post the pasta through the mouths of the animals? This is a great opportunity for speech and language development – can you feed the sheep? What noise does a sheep make? The pig is very hungry – can you give him 3 carrots? Again, they can use their hands or tweezers.
Potato Masher Chick!
How cute is this?! Made by one of my older Little Learners at my Easter class. We used stick on eyes, but googly eyes would also work well. Or you could just draw them on when it’s dry. I gave the children pre-cut beaks and legs but older ones could use the opportunity to practise their scissor skills. We used a potato masher and yellow paint to print the head and body. So simple but as you can see also very effective! It would make a lovely Easter card.
Enjoy these Easter Play and Craft Activities and do let me know in the comments if you try any of these fun ideas at home! You can order the tweezers from our online shop by clicking here.
Happy Easter everyone!
